Vist with Great Uncle, Aunt and Second Cousins

On our way out of town, we stopped at Uncle Ken, Aunt Andrea, Samuel and Treasure's house for lunch.  It was nice to see the whole family again.  They visited us in Albuquerque once (we forgot to take a picture) when Caleb was only 4 months old, so it was fun to let the cousins see Caleb walking around and babbling.  Caleb had a fun time playing with Samuel and Treasure.  At one point, Caleb was playing with the vacuum and Samuel told Jarred that it looked like Caleb wanted to play with it, so he let him.  :)  That Caleb is a charmer!

Overall, we had a great trip to Virginia.  It was a whirlwind in a way seeing so many people in 4 days, but it was so good to see family over the holiday break and to have Caleb meet his great-grandparents!  Thank you to everyone in Virginia who hosted us and fed us such yummy food and blessed Caleb with such fun toys!

Trip to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History

Poppi and Lyn dropped Jarred, Caleb and I off at the Museum of Natural History one day.  This was Caleb's first experience outside of the stroller experience in a museum where he could touch things.  It was a little skeptical, but jumped right in!  His eyes got so big when he saw the giant elephant!  We haven't taken Caleb to the zoo yet because by the time he was at a good age, the weather got too cold, so this was our attempt at a zoo-like experience.  Caleb is definitely ready for the zoo!

After the museum, we let up with Poppi and Lyn and walked to the outdoor ice skating rink.  The weather wasn't bad at all which was nice.

Visit to Nana's

While we were in Virginia, we spent the day with Nana, Caleb's great-grandma.

Caleb also got to see his Great Uncle Ken (my dad's brother if you can't see the resemblance!).  We had a good time catching up and eating some delicious food.

Adventures with Poppi and Lyn

Poppi learned pretty early on that Caleb LOVES buttons-so off to the computer room they went!
Poppi and Caleb being silly with the napkins!
Caleb found a cookbook just his size!

Poppi had a ring toss game awaiting Caleb's arrival!  While they were playing Poppi told Caleb to put the ring on the head of the pin and Caleb proceeded to put the ring on Poppi's head!  It was too cute!  Caleb is a smart little guy!

We had such a great time staying with Poppi and Lyn, seeing the sights, eating amazing food and spending some quality time with them.  Caleb really enjoyed his time playing chase, pushing buttons, laughing, and having a good time with his Poppi and Lyn.  It was so hard to say goodbye, but with us living closer, we are hoping to spend more time with them.

Botanical Gardens in Washington DC

The day after Christmas, we packed the car and drove to Virginia to see my grandparents who Caleb hadn't met yet!  Our first day there, we went to the Botanical Gardens in DC to see the model train!  It was so cool!  There were trains everywhere in this room.  Caleb didn't know whether to look up or right in front of him!
Since there were SO many people, we took Caleb out of his stroller so he could get a closer look at all of the trains.

This is Poppi and Lyn with Caleb.  They both had WAY too much with Caleb.  Caleb brings everyone to smiles!

Here was one of  the replicas amongst the train track!
There were also some gorgeous flowers!

This was our attempt at getting a family shot!

The Cozy Coupe

Caleb got his first car this Christmas, the Cozy Coupe!  He LOVES it!  On Christmas morning, Caleb got all wide-eyed when he saw this ginormous thing wrapped in paper waiting for him.  He didn't rip into the paper like we had hoped, but he did tear the paper enough to see into the package.  He wanted to climb into the car with it wrapped!  After we helped him completely unwrap his gift, he knew exactly what to do and climbed right in!  He spent most of the morning hanging out in his car.  We wouldn't hear him for a few minutes and would go looking only to find him sitting in his car watching the parade!  Haha!

Caleb was so blessed with so many fun new toys, clothes and books for Christmas!  Thank you to everyone who helped make Caleb's Christmas special!
