One of our less-busy weeks

I realized we were having some really busy weeks where we would either have a play date, a park date, errands, storytime, or something every day.  So, this past week, we had a slower week for us-haha.  We went to Carriage Hill Metro Park for lunch with some friends.  They have a working farm where we got to see a few animals.

One morning, I needed to get some meals cooked for some ladies, so I set up a "water" table for Caleb to play with in the kitchen while I worked.  He LOVED it!  Give the boy some cups, water and pans and he is set!  He made a huge mess, but its just water!
He did, however, try to bring me a cup of his water in the adjoining dining room having it slosh out the whole way where he proceeded to slip, fall on his back and have the cup of water douse him in his face!  It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen and all I could do was laugh as we cried a little.  He soon started laughing and saying "wet.....hair.....wet."  Oh goodness that boy!
And, here is Anna Kate just hanging out watching us.  She is getting pretty good sitting in her bumbo seat.

Opryland Hotel

On our way home, we stopped at the Opryland Hotel.  Jarred and I were there 5 years ago when we were at ASBC in Alabama.  It was fun to walk around with our two kiddos and reminisce.  The hotel is absolutely gorgeous!  And, yes, those water falls are inside the hotel.

Caleb had a lot of fun walking around with us without holding our hands.

We let Caleb watch a couple Sesame Street clips on the laptop in the car.  He felt pretty special being able to hold the computer!  Such a big boy!

Sorry the pictures got out of order a bit.  I added a few "scenery" shots of the hotel.

Nashville with the Anders

We went to Nashville this past weekend to meet up with some of our good friends.  Jarred went to the Academy with Lance who was also in the physics program.  We have not seen he or his lovely wife, Danielle, since the Johnson's wedding back in Feb. '07!  Too long.  We were commenting while we were together of how we all haven't changed too much, we just have "mini me's" running around now!  Their two kiddos to the left of Caleb are Miss Margaret and Jameson.  The kid to the right of Caleb was a stray kiddo at the park who wanted to join in on the fun.
Here is Lance teetering on the see-saw.  That is Danielle in pink who is expecting their 3rd kiddo in October!

We had breakfast at the Pancake Pantry where we had seriously the best pancakes we have ever tasted.  The Anders told us they were the best, but we thought "they are just pancakes, how can they be that good."  We were so wrong, wow, they melt in your mouth.  There was a line down the street to get in when we left!  Good thing the kiddos were on eastern time and Nashville is oddly, an hour behind us, so we were up really early!  We went to a park near Vanderbilt where the kiddos could get some energy out.

The Anders brought some dress-up clothes, hence, Caleb in the funny hat and some watercolor paints.  I haven't done painting with a brush before, so this was Caleb's first shot at it.  We really liked it!
Oh, Margaret is 18 months old (4 months younger than Caleb) and Jameson is the big 3 year old.
Bath time!
Jumping on the bed time.

Anna Kate looks HUGE in this picture!  Haha.  The girls.

Here we all are!  We had such a good weekend catching up, although a weekend is just too short.  We are hoping to plan a get-together again next year with more of our friends and their kids!

Jameson insisted that we get that cat in a picture!
What a cutie!

3 Months & Grabbing Toys

At first glance, I couldn't tell who this was in the picture, Anna Kate or Caleb!  Anna Kate has hair, so thats how I will decipher between the two!  But, she has started grabbing toys!  It is only a couple weeks before Caleb, but she is much more relaxed about it than Caleb was.  Caleb would get so excited and Anna Kate doesn't really care!
Here is Miss Anna Kate at exactly 3 months!

Here she is grabbing the toys on her bouncer seat.
This bottom picture is Caleb when he started grabbing the toys on the bouncer.

And, here is our big boy packing his backpack for an outing!  Time sure does fly by!

Columbus Zoo

He have been wanting to go back to the zoo ever since we left in June, and we finally found a day that wasn't too miserably hot to go.  It wound up being a great day, overcast for the whole morning and didn't get super hot until we left.  We are early birds (less crowds that way), so we get a good 6 hours in before most of the crowds begin.
We got to see the polar bears swim-SO COOL!
The lovely bats :/

The boys.

Anna Kate sportin' her monkey onesie for the occasion and sleeping like a princess!

Haha, I was trying to get a fun photo of Caleb and the gorilla, but the glass is too reflective!
