Camping Weekend: Mammoth Cave, Kentucky

We went to Mammoth Cave, Kentucky for our first family of 4 camping trip!  Jarred, Caleb and I went when Caleb was 9 months old I think.  So, this was an adventure for sure!  It is definitely a challenge to watch two kids in the dirt, around fire, with giant sticks that can be picked up and poked with, but with all of that said...........it was FUN.  It was nice to get away and just be us without phones, computers, toys and other conveniences like a shower.   :0

The kiddos have matching chairs!  I was hoping to find pink or red, but it worked out best for them to have the same chair so there was no arguing.  And, yes, our kids are starting to want what the other one has :)  Its getting interesting around here.
We went into Mammoth Cave Saturday morning and explored.  Anna Kate rode in the front pack and fell asleep not even halfway through our exploring.  It was so nice and cool in the cave (we heard 57degrees) and it was really cool to see.
I never wear hats and after seeing this picture, probably won't again with all of my hair up, so remember this picture :)
After the cave, we had lunch, then went to Dinosaur World which was down the street (like 15min) from the camping area, a total tourist trap, but not too bad.  Caleb liked seeing the dinosaurs and Anna Kate got to walk around a bit.
Perfect! (Jarred said she was growling too-I had to run to the car to get a bandaid for Caleb who slipped on the path)

Fossil dig!  Caleb found (aka Jarred helped him find) a shark tooth!
 Anna Kate liked digging too!

We do have a few necessities that we bring with us-a booster seat to tie down our adventurous 1 year old!
 Makes me smile!
 Caleb had the camera "clicker."
 Our 4 person tent.
In case you were curious how we sleep-pack n play with Anna Kate in it and Caleb next to her, then Jarred and I on the other side.  We could separate us by the flap in the center, but we don't at this point :)  No sleeping bags either, just pads and sheets-it was 90 degrees and muggy while we were there.
