Pictures with Grandpa and Grandma

We had a great visit with Grandpa and Grandma.  The kiddos needed the attention after all of our packing and moving distractions.  When we first moved to our house, a friend asked Caleb if he liked his new house and he said, "no, its messy."  He asked me if we could clean it.  Poor kid.  Caleb and Anna Kate were troopers through it all being tossed to a lot of friend's houses, but we are settled for the most part and having their grandparents in town helped too.  Grandpa and Grandma took the kids to Boonshoft Children's Museum on Friday and to Wendy's for some frosty's.  I got to run errands and have a lunch date with Jarred which never happens :)  Then, we had a busy weekend with Caleb's soccer game, birthday party, trip to IKEA for a few things for the house, and bowling.  We didn't get too many pictures, just lots of fun memories.  It was just fun being able to watch the kids have a good time, show off, play, and just be themselves with the family.  We miss being around family.  Here are a few pictures we got though :)

We just LOVE these two!!  Super cute!

Birthday Weekend

Caleb wanted a "big cake" so we made a big cake together.  He picked out the color, flavor and decorated it with all of his lightening mcqueens and maters from his first birthday!  He loved it!
Anna Kate liked eating it too.  I am not sure what was up with her pig tails :)
We got Caleb a tricycle for his birthday this year!  He is growing up WAY too fast!

This is Caleb's bike from last year-he is WAY too big for it now!  I cannot believe how much he has changed.
We had his soccer game Saturday morning.  This is his 2nd game, he did much better although it was only 42 degrees outside :)

Don't worry, I just bought him a new hat today since apparently his head grew since the last time he wore a hat :)

Caleb's Curious George Pizza Birthday Party!

We had Caleb's 3rd Birthday Party-Curious George Pizza Party!  It was a hit!  The kiddos decorated their own aprons and made their own pizzas.  We gave each kid a ball of dough to roll out on flour, sauce, cheese and other toppings!  The kids seriously did so well; it could have been a true mess, but I think it was a good age group to start at, any younger and we would have had problems!  We had a fun group of toddlers ages 1-5!  Caleb had a blast!  Grandpa dressed up as the Man in the Yellow Hat to help the kiddos with their pizza making.  We are truly blessed with great friends and family!

Anna Kate LOVED eating her pizza :)

Busy Burley's

September was a BUSY month for us and I don't think it will slow down for a while, so here are a couple highlights.

-We found a house to rent.  So, we spent the entire month packing and preparing to move in Sept 28.  I will say it is HARD packing for an in town move and still live in your current place.  We did it though with the help of some good friends watching the kiddos and loading the truck.  We moved in on a Friday, had Caleb's first soccer game on Sept 29, cleaned the "old" house Saturday and Sunday, finished emptying it Oct 1, and closed that lease out Oct 2nd.  Then, we might have squeezed in some house guests, Grandma and Grandpa and managed to pull off a Curious George Pizza Party for Caleb's 3rd birthday on Oct 6th! (more pictures of that to come soon)

-The BIGGEST news of the month was going to our first OB appointment for our "dating" ultrasound, only to find out that we are expecting IDENTICAL TWIN BOYS!!!  We first found out they were 2 babies in the belly and a couple weeks later found out they were BOYS!  We are excited, a little overwhelmed, and very grateful we moved into a bigger house with a yard, attached garage and a toy room :)

-Jarred found out he is going to SOS (Squadron Officer School) in Montgomery, AL for a couple months starting mid October.  We knew he would go sometime, but the dates kept changing and they were saying March (not a good month since we are due with the babes March 28th), but now its this year.  It looks like he will go down for a few weeks, then I will go down with the kids for a couple weeks, come back for my OB apt, then back down.  Then, if everything is looking good with the pregnancy, go to Colorado for my brother's college graduation.

-Needless to say, we are busy.  Jarred started his new position of flight commander Oct 1st, so he tells me he has 8 weeks of work to do in a week and a half before we go to Colorado for a quick trip and before he heads down to Alabama.

-Our now, 3 year old, Caleb started soccer at the YMCA.  He is still a little tentative, but he is improving every practice and game.  If anything, he is the cutest boy out there :)  We had his 3 year check-up today where the doctor told us "he is too smart" with a grin.  Before she has told me that "it is the smart ones who are hard to discipline." - no kidding, that is the truth!  He is a great kid though, and a great big brother!  He is in the 88 %tile for height which is higher than he has been on the charts (tall and skinny like his Daddy).

-Anna Kate is growing by leaps and bounds.  Her favorite words are now "mine and no."  Not a good combo, but when she is trying to play with her bigger brother, well, she does what she can and says what she has heard most :)  She follows her brother and does everything he does, it is quite interesting around here.  She is super smart too, talking a lot and understands more than we thought possible at this age.  She has a little "spit fire" personality which will be interesting as she gets older and is the only girl with 3 brothers :)

-I am busy watching the kiddos, of course.  I try to squeeze in a few photo sessions here and there, nothing regular since we have been swamped, but enough to keep me busy and still loving photography.  I am currently doing a bible study on Tuesday mornings, a mom's group every Thursday, doctor's appointments every 2 weeks, and trying to get in as many play dates as possible before baby boys arrive.

I think that is pretty much all of our news from here in the Burley household.  We hope everyone is doing well!  More pictures to come soon, I promise!

 Our newest soccer star!!
Yep, talked Jarred into being the assistant coach.

I took the kiddos to the Air Force Museum one day, they LOVE sitting in the planes pretending to fly :)

These two are just too precious for words.  They were super quiet while I was putting dinner together, I go looking for them and here they are "pretending" to take a nap together.  :)
