House Pictures

I decided to post some pictures of our new place.  I don't think I will ever have the house in the cleanest state possible to take fabulous pictures, and I am not willing to hide a ton of things just to take pictures, so here you go.  The above picture is from the front door looking into the living room.
This is the other side of the living room, our "kid corner" as we like to call it with the cool cubby bookshelf Jarred built and the toy box that our great Albuquerque neighbors built for us.  I am thinking about putting a padded cushion on the toy box to make it another place to sit.  Then, if you notice my "family" pictures which I am so proud of.  I am LOVING the wall space in this house!
This is the view from the kitchen into the dining area.
This is looking into the giant room.  Notice our "hutch" from IKEA.
The master bedroom.  It is one of the smallest rooms of the house, but it works.  I am most proud of the curtain behind the bed.  There is a window behind there that is only half the size of the area, and I didn't want it to look really off center and out of place, so we found a duvet cover from IKEA and bought the fabulous drapery rod there and there you go!!  Brilliance!  Not going to lie, I am so proud of this, I cannot even begin to explain!
This is the guest bedroom which is SO much larger than ABQ.  There was a great nook in the corner for Jarred's desk and stuff.  Pretty sure this room is larger than the master!
Here is the other half.  I thought the bed looked better than it did, sorry.  But, you can kind of see the black bookshelf which is one half of the set of bookshelves that Jarred made.  He is pretty crafty!!
This is Caleb's room-ginormous!  We put his "big boy" bed in his room or just another "guest" bed.  Because his room is upstairs, we don't spend as much time up there, so there was no reason to have tons of toys or storage for them.
Caleb had to make an appearance somewhere in these pictures so you all would be interested! :)  Just kidding.  I did enlarge it so you could see his cute face and his walking stance!  In case I forgot to mention that Caleb is a walker now!!!  He officially spends more time on his feet than his knees now!

If you see the cubby bookshelf to the left of Caleb's dresser, another project of Jarred's.  Jarred is pretty incredible!!  Do you see the new stuffed animal holder in the corner too-from IKEA?  Love that store!
Well, I guess that's it!  I didn't take pictures of bathrooms, pantry, laundry room, or the outside.  Didn't know if you all would interested in those.  I may take a picture of the outside for kicks, or the neighbors-haha!  They look identical.  Our house is not what you would call "great curb appeal," but its a roof over our heads and close to where Jarred works.  Oh, and its not a house, its more like a townhouse where we share walls on both sides of us.  Penny hasn't really figured that out yet, so when the neighbors go in and out there front door umteen times a day-Penny growls.  One day, one day Penny will learn or atleast learn to ignore it.  That is all for now!

Apple & Peach Pickin'

Last week we were able to go apple and peach picking at a local farm.  It was a lot of fun to be outside in the gorgeous weather, walk the different lines of apple and peach trees and pick away.  We went with our good friends, David and Sarah Williams, and had a blast.  Sarah has been canning all sorts of fun stuff, so I am going to follow suit and begin canning myself.  We are going to can peach and apple filling as well as some yummy apple butter!  I will let you know how it turns out!
David and Sarah walking ahead of us.  We all took turns picking and holding Caleb!
Jarred gave Caleb an apple to hold and well, he enjoyed the stem better!  We took Caleb into the doctor this past week and it turns out he is teething once again, but with his 1 year molars this time.  I thought we would have a little bit longer of a break, but here we are, drool face and all.

Dayton Adventures So Far

Look at my 2 handsome guys!
Caleb definitely gets his eyes from his Daddy.
Great belly shot.  There is a park just across the street from us that has a few swings.  Caleb loves to swing in the baby swing.  Notice his little crocs-my good friend, Jamie gave us those.  Love them!!
We found a The RootBeer Stande which has really good rootbeer floats!  Caleb liked having little bites of ice cream, but of course, he enjoyed the spoon more!!
There is this pretty big park just a short 5 minute drive from our house that we had a nice picnic lunch at.  Jarred has this week off, so we are taking advantage of all the time we have together!!
I am not sure who had more fun going down the slide, Caleb or me.  My hair caught the side of the slide and static-electricity set in!!  Jarred laughed pretty hard at us, well me!
Irresistible smile!  And, look at those teeth!
Funny story....you see that Railroad sign on his shirt.  We were given that shirt from Jamie, so I had no clue what that was.  It is this hard square on his shirt.  I was messing with it when I was putting Caleb's outfit on for the day and it start "choo-chooing."  Caleb was so confused and looking around everywhere to where the sound was coming from.  I couldn't help but laugh and push the button more!  We did take his shirt off for nap time because I was afraid if he rolled over like he does it would wake him up.  Too fun!
Our first bike riding trip-Caleb was a little confused as to why he was being strapped into a cart while wearing a helmet!  We did wind up taking the helmet off because he wasn't able to put his head back without it slipping over his eyes.  We think he had a good time though; he was talking a lot along the way!
This was the first of many rides to come.  We went first thing in the morning so we could avoid the heat.  We are going through a little heat wave out here, so we have been trying to do all of our activities earlier in the day.

These are just a few of the fun things we have done here in Dayton so far.  We went to the outdoor mall a couple days ago which is a quaint place to walk around and we are hoping to go pick some apples and peaches later this week.  There is a ton to do here and we are enjoying ourselves so far.  We can't wait to get some visitors so we can show you around!  Fall time is the best time to be here I have heard! (hint, hint, wink wink :))

Older Photos

Caleb's 1st swimming pool experience.
I think the "giant bath tub" was a little weird for him.
He did get a little more comfortable with it.  We are hoping to take him to the pool here later this week, so we will see how he likes it the second time around.
Trouble Maker.  :)
Jarred's office mate and friend from the Academy, Alfie.  They were buds!
Our 4 year wedding anniversary.
Caleb and Joel.  We miss our ABQ friends and Chic-fi-la lunch dates.
My friends at Albuquerque Monument, Debra and Vitaliy.
Nathan and Caleb at work.

I just found the cord to my camera and wanted to get some of these photos on the blog before it was way too late.  A couple months isn't too old, but you can definitely tell how much Caleb has changed.
