Pool Day

We took Caleb to the base pool one day to see how he would do.  He has been known to scream and cry and just hate it, so we wanted to get him use to the "giant bath tub."  Jarred and I went out and bought all sorts of floaties for the pool, arm bands, a float for Caleb to sit in and others.  So, we spent the time blowing everything up, get Caleb all set to go and.............the lifeguards tell us we can't have "inflatable" things in the pool, Air Force regulations.  Sweet, so we take everything off and get in the pool.  Well, Jarred got in the pool first with Caleb.  One of us had to stay with Miss Anna Kate-still a little young for the pool.

There was a little pool that was about 1-2 feet deep, cold, but Caleb amazingly didn't mind.
He got use to it.  Saying, "Two, two, go" (for "1, 2, 3, go").  We hold him in the bigger pool which he enjoyed, and there were some life vests that we could use there at the pool to show Caleb how to kick and float.

Cool Park

We found this WAY cool park through my Mom's group.  It is in a great neighborhood, one we would LOVE to live in, not too far from us, and has lots to do.  We went with Daddy on Monday to check the place out and let Caleb get the lay of the land, then Mommy and Caleb went back with the mom's group on Thursday!  We had such a great time both days!
Here is the giant sandbox equipped with buckets, shovels, and a water thingy.
It is hard to tell, but this is the splash pad with basically a lot of fun sprinklers to run through!  Caleb was a little unsure, but got the hang of it.
There is a climbing area, a bit too big for Caleb, but we found a few places he could hang on.
A playground with a climbing tunnel and slide.

Our sweet boy!

Bath Time in the Burley House

This is how we do it.........otherwise one of the kids misses out on having Jarred or I not there.  Caleb likes the company and Anna Kate is so chill when it comes to baths!

More of Young's Dairy

Caleb is getting the hang of feeding the goats.  He isn't as scared anymore either which is good.  2nd time is a charm!

Anna Kate - 4 Weeks Old

Our Miss Anna Kate is 4 Weeks old already!  Time sure flies when you are busy taking care of two kiddos!  Jarred helped me take a few cameos of our little one.  I need to get some pictures up in our house, so it looks like we have two kids, not just our cutie Caleb!

She is getting chubby already!

Our Entertaining Caleb

Nana taught Caleb to do a little dance where you hold hands and lift "right leg up, then left leg."  He took David and Sarah's hands and had them dance along with him.  I tried to catch them all in the action, but Caleb gets distracted by the camera.  He is too funny.
He loves to do what Anna Kate does.  If she lays on the couch, he does as well.

Below, Caleb giving Anna Kate kisses.

Wegerzyn Gardens Metro Park

Here in Dayton there are metro parks throughout the city that are different from one another so we have been told.  This was our first metro park experience at Wegerzyn Gardens.  It is like a botanical garden in that it is a garden, but it also has "water" features for kids.  Caleb got to water some plants as you can see in the above picture.  Walk through a "stream", see a waterfall (one he did not want to play in), play with instruments, do some digging in a couple sand boxes, and have a family picnic.  We had a lot of fun and are planning on checking out the other parks too!

The place was so pretty!
Anna Kate just hung out in her shaded stroller.

Caleb is getting into climbing these days, so he decided to pose on top of the table!
Here is the stream.  I think if we would have gone earlier before it got super busy, Caleb would have explored the water more.  He just wasn't a fan of the crowds, noise, and uncertainty of it all.

He loved running through the park though!  He went up and down the little slope on the bridge I don't know how many times!
Here is our new stroller, a front to back double tandum thing.  We had a really hard time deciding what stroller to get.  I did lots of research, talked to quite a few friends and well, finally decided on one.  This stroller we can put the car seat directly on to it which we like and it isn't a double wide thing.  It takes up most of our trunk, but I guess thats why people upgrade to mini vans which we will hopefully be doing next year when the kiddos are older and need even more things piled in the car!!  Until then........well, we pack around the stroller.
A few family photos minus our sleeping beauty.

Everyday Life

Caleb watching Daddy mow the grass.  He always sets both chairs up together, never just one.  I can't wait till Anna Kate can sit next to him!
Out of the blue, Caleb went crawling on his knees down the hallway and thought it was too cool!  He laughed the whole way!
Miss Anna Kate sleeping......she sleeps a lot, but believe it or not, she is sleeping less during the day now and MORE at night which is so nice!  Shhh.....don't tell too many moms of newborns, but this girl is sleeping 5-6 hours at a time now at night, then another 3-4.  It is glorious!
I can't leave these two kiddos alone if Anna Kate is on the floor because I turn around and Caleb wants to lay next to her.  Nothing wrong with some sibling bonding time, except when Caleb doesn't quite understand space and how big he is.  Caleb sits on the floor, then lays back not looking behind or beside him.  It is cute, but a little scary.
And, I thought it would be fun to try and take a picture with my cuties!  Not the most flattering of me, but thats okay.  Wow, for a newborn, Anna Kate is tanner than both Caleb and I. :)  Love her big eyes!

Last bit of Nana's trip

Bath time.  Anna Kate woke up when we took her out of the bath, silly girl!
Caleb LOVES cameras and saying, "Cheeese."  So, sometimes I will set up the tripod, camera and self-timer and let him have some fun!  It is too cute watching him run to get in the picture!
Little Man.
Nana joined in on the fun!

We had some HOT days before Nana left.  They were spent at the park, in the front yard throwing the ball, or drawing on the sidewalk with chalk.  We sure enjoyed our time with Nana and appreciated having Papa loan her to us for a week!
